Spring is my favourite time of the year! The weather is warming up, flowers are blooming, and there are so many fun hands-on activities that you can do with your kindergarteners. The possibilities are endless. Here are some great spring activities for kindergarten that you can try out with your little ones.
Hello Spring Bulletin Board:
One great way to celebrate the arrival of spring is to create a Hello Spring bulletin board in different languages. You can have your students help you create the board by decorating the blank kites with the text “Hello Spring” in 10 different languages. You can also have them write down their favorite things about spring on small paper clouds and attach them to the board. This is a great way to get your students excited about the season and encourage them to express their thoughts and ideas in their home-language. Math is an important subject for kindergarteners, and there are many fun spring-themed math activities that you can include in your curriculum. You can create a Spring math workbook that includes activities like counting flowers, addition, and measuring objects or ten frames. This is a great way to teach your students basic math skills while also introducing them to the beauty of nature in the spring. Also available in winter-themed Math workbook.
Sentence Scramble:
Another fun spring activity that you can try out with your kindergarteners is a Spring sentence scramble worksheets. This is a great way to help your students practice their language skills while also learning about spring-related vocabulary. These printable are great for ESL students as it has sentences with sight-words and sentences with 3,4 and 5 word sentences. This is a fun and engaging way to teach your students about sentence structure and spring vocabulary.
Vocabulary Book
Spring is a great time to introduce your ESL kindergarteners to new vocabulary words. This mini book is a fun way to introduce vocabulary that includes words like “tulip,” “puddle,” “rain,” and “butterfly.” You can have your students color the pictures of each word and read the sentence and practice the vocabulary word using different ways of printing the word. This is a great way to help your ESL students practice their vocabulary and improve their language skills. This product is included in my “Holiday Vocabulary Words Mini Books BUNDLE “. Please do not purchase this product if you own the bundle!
Write the Room:
Finally, you can try out a fun spring-themed activity called “Write the Room.” It’s a great way to add movement and learning to your literacy centers! Your students will love moving around the classroom while searching for the words!
These are great ideas. I like that they are easy and no prep really required.
Thank you.
